WOMEN IN BUSINESS

The EBRD BAS Programme for Armenia, funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), is supporting female entrepreneurs to start up new businesses, utilize growth opportunities and establish networks of like-minded people. In addition to the standard BAS projects for women owned/managed businesses carried out as demonstration projects, the following non-conventional projects were undertaken throughout 2006:

Focus Group: Identification of business advisory services among women owned/managed businesses with growth potential in the regions of Armenia

Workshop on financial controls and accounting targeted at women entrepreneurs in the Vayots Dzor region of Armenia

Benchmarking women-run family recreational services

Seminar on food safety and hygiene standards for regional women-run businesses in Armenia

Seminar on management know-how for CEOs of private higher education institutions

Pilot Project: Women transition from art to business (Phase 1)

Pilot Project: Establishing a fashion training centre in Armenia (Phase 2)
